Lead, Strategic Partnerships

| Greater NYC Area

About us:

Cityblock Health is a new type of healthcare company, operating out of Brooklyn and backed by Alphabet’s Sidewalk Labs, along with some of the top healthcare investors in the country.

Our mission is to radically improve the health of urban communities, one block at a time. Importantly, our solutions are designed specifically for Medicaid and lower-income Medicare beneficiaries, and we bring the capability to deliver care in the home and neighborhood with our field-based teams.

In close collaboration with community based organizations and a leading commercial partner, we are reorganizing the health system to focus on what matters to our members. We deliver personalized primary care, behavioral health, and social services through a network of neighborhood hubs with deep community-based partnerships and world-class technology.

We partner with payers and at-risk providers, taking capitated financial risk to care for their most vulnerable, high and rising risk members. Additionally, we invest in strategic partnerships with community-based and social services organizations, in some instances bringing them into the value equation through sub-capitation and performance-based compensation.

Over the next year we’ll grow quickly, including entering new markets, each with their own commercial relationships and field-based teams. This role will be a key contributor to the success of our business.

The role:

We are seeking an innovative, execution-focused leader who will drive growth, strategy, and corporate development to support Cityblock’s mission to radically improve the health of communities across the US. The optimal candidate brings deep experience and exposure across value-based payment/delivery arrangements between payers and providers, and can leverage their relationship building skills to successfully close new opportunities for Cityblock.

If you like solving hard problems, have deep experience evaluating and implementing new technologies and capabilities in healthcare settings, are excited about joining an organization that will drive significant change in the healthcare industry, and are an amazing teammate, we want to hear from you!

  • Work cross functionally with clinical and operational leadership to ensure our partnerships alleviate pressing capability gaps as they pertain to Cityblock’s care delivery model.
  • Collaborate with the broader Growth team and Cityblock executives in support of potential M&A/material partnership pursuits
  • Build market and partner opportunity/bid analyses on a national, state, and regional basis to inform Cityblock’s expansion strategy, identifying new business opportunities, partners, and market segments
  • Design high-quality narratives and sales collateral for partner engagement.
  • Lead contract negotiations for risk-based deals, including interfacing with legal and actuarial staff/vendors

You’d be a good fit if you have:

An Insider's view of Cityblock Health

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

The opportunity to collaborate directly with medical professionals, care providers, and engineers to build Commons is rare and huge. You're not just building features. You know the 'why' of what you're building and who it will help—and you can see the impact firsthand.

Sylvia

VP of Engineering

How does the company support your career growth?

This is my first role as a software engineer—my previous life was in fashion retail. Cityblock created a structure that enables me to master fundamental skills and empowers me to own projects that expose me gradually to more difficult concepts, like building our application’s notification center—with a supportive team backing me up.

Alicia

Software Engineer

What is your vision for the company?

In my clinical work, I've seen our health system moving away from relationships and toward increasingly complex frameworks. I joined Cityblock to challenge that trend. To make healthcare trustworthy again and to truly meet individuals where they are.

Toyin

Chief Health Officer

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

My goal is to work with tech & clinical teams to build something useful yet simple. Sitting side-by-side we try to understand what our care teams and members need from our technology. Together, we're creating a world in which the product and tools become invisible, to enable our care teams to spend as much time as possible with our members.
