Senior Manager / Director, Provider Quality Management

| Greater NYC Area

[Please note that this is an office based position at Flatiron's office in New York, NY. This role requires direct experience with quality management in the healthcare setting to enhance regulatory, safety, and quality commitments - this is not an operational position]

Flatiron Health operates in a highly regulated space, with requirements from Health and Human Services (HHS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of National Coordination of Health IT (ONC) as well as other local and federal regulations. Our oncology-focused products and services have the ability to directly impact healthcare providers and the care that they provide to patients. To ensure that regulatory, safety, and quality commitments are top of mind, Flatiron Health’s Integrated Quality Management team is seeking a senior quality professional to define, maintain, and oversee the quality management system. This position will provide quality partnerships across Flatiron Health’s business through quality management and quality oversight activities intended to accelerate quality improvement primarily focused on our community oncology initiatives (e.g. electronic health record, billing solutions, practice management offerings). We are looking for a candidate with direct experience building, maintaining, and overseeing quality programs intended to ensure that software products and services are safe, effective, and add value to end users. This role will act as the team lead to hire, develop, and enable the success of the Provider Quality Management sub-team.

Responsibilities:

-Provide proactive quality support regarding healthcare best practices, process development/improvement, change management, and risk management

-Define, implement, and enhance Flatiron’s quality management system based on applicable regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal quality/safety commitments

-Define, implement, and enhance proactive quality support methods for cross-functional teams

-Develop proactive ways to measure and assess the health of Flatiron’s quality programs

-Implement quality activities focused on risk assessment, identification, escalation, and management

-Guide teams in the implementation and management of effective corrective and preventive actions

-Foster a quality culture focused on meeting high quality, ethical, patient safety, and regulatory standards

-Enhance and implement standard operating procedures and associated training plans

-Collaborate with our Product Management, Operations, Oncology, Marketing, and Engineering teams

Requirements:

-Direct experience within the highly regulated, healthcare environment (e.g. electronic health records, medical oncology practices, health insurance company, government agency, etc.). To be considered at the Senior Manager level, applicants must have at least 8 years of direct quality experience. To be considered at the Director level, applicants must have at least 10 years of direct quality experience.

-Direct experience with hiring, training, developing, and managing staff with various backgrounds and levels of experience

-Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following regulatory frameworks:

-Health & Human Services (HHS) regulations such as HIPAA privacy rule, HIPAA security rule, Protections of Human Subjects, etc.

-Office of National Coordination of Health IT (ONC) certification

-Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations such as Meaningful Use (MU), Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), Oncology Care Model (OCM), etc

-Direct experience with designing and optimizing a quality management system

-Experience drafting, reviewing, implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs)

-Ability to work within cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously

-Structured communication skills tailored to both project teams and executive management-

-Passionate about improving lives by learning from the experience of every cancer patient

Bonus Points:

-Experience in developing an organizational “culture of quality”

-Experience interpreting and translating complex regulatory guidance into action (e.g. interpreting legislation to ensure compliance with health care regulations)

-Oncology and/or clinical experience (e.g. nursing or pharmacy)

-Experience working with oncologists/clinicians

-Experience conducting internal audits and/or vendor audits

-Experience facilitating external audits and/or inspections

-Experience conducting review of contracts
